About California Backyard Solutions
This backyard is in the Natomas area. One of the most narrow yards that I have seen. It’s approximately 9’ wide. These wonderful clients love to entertain, but they didn’t think there was a way to ever make use of this area for guests and enjoy our great Sacramento weather. We worked with them to design an elegant patio while maximizing space. The yard sits lower than the yards above and to the left so they were concerned if they put concrete in that there would be flooding issues. So, we gave them drainage the full length of the yard, down the center of the stamped concrete, and the full length behind the retaining wall that doubles as a full length bench and flower bed. All the drainage runs along both sides of the home and flows to flower bed areas out in the front yard where it can be reabsorbed to help conserve water.

Now that you’re inspired to do your own backyard, scroll down for a good laugh. Pics of me over the years still wearing the same pink sports jacket in some of them. Time for some new clothes, lol.  The clothes haven't changed, but the hair color has, and our customers just keep getting better and better. Hope you liked our site!
Sacramento CA,  Natomas Area. Making the most of a very narrow and sloped back yard with a drain problem. The neighbors yard behind the fence, with a nearly two foot elevation difference, was causing my client's yard to be practically unusable. A severely narrow and lower yard, the water run off and soil erosion coming from above, left this yard in a muddy mess. My client was hoping to turn her
backyard into a space for which she could entertain company. We built them a small concrete block retaining wall to hold back the neighbors yard, added drainage behind the wall and around all three sides of the house, ashlar slate stamped concrete, drystack stone veneer and flagstone to the top of the concrete block wall to finish the look.  Thank you to my clients. You were great to work for!

2008 Creating a custom fountain for my clients. My clients had a vision of the fountain they wanted. One that had expressed their Italian heritage and romance. They shopped endlessly and couldn't find one. So we created the one they envisioned. Fantastically fun newlywed customers.

2012 Getting older...Uhg...But love being a grandma! Me with the twin grandbabies at my all time favorite clients. If you can imagine someone setting out a buffet and refreshments everyday for A you and your crew while they worked in the hot sun. Unbelievable, but true!
