This fun yard is the perfect application for artificial turf and just what the doctor needed to relax on his days off. The young couple that bought this home was very busy and one of them being a doctor wanted to have a putting green in the back yard but didn't think it was possible. The yard was originally sloped with different levels and had several possible drainage issues. Complicating it further is the fact that the property is on coastal wet lands. They shopped around with other landscape contractors that told them it wasn't possible and they would have to have a couple of stairs to make the transition from patio to yard and the putting green just wouldn't be left with enough room to be worth while. They also planned on starting a family and didn't want the stairs for a future toddler in the yard. We addressed the drainage issues by properly sloping the grade underneath and designing a fish bone drainage system the full length of the artificial turf (like they install under professional football fields). This made it possible to eliminate all the different levels that were previously going on and create the vision they had for their yard.
This yard has everything. Making the most out of a small yard can be done with the right design. A wrap around putting green, natural gas BBQ, inset fountain, planting beds behind the retaining wall all make this yard elegant as well as fun and functional.

Artificial Turf doesn't have to look fake. With a few of the right details and the right border, its hard to tell that this front yard is artificial turf and not sod.
